This Live Online Teacher Training (LOTT) is Step 1 of the Teacher Training Pathway and includes the following elements:

In order to receive CE credits, you must attend all the Teacher Training Sessions. No credit is given for partial attendance. You will also need to fill out the online Evaluation after the training completes. CE Certificates will be emailed about a month after the program completes.
This program is sponsored by UC San Diego Center for Mindfulness. The UC San Diego Center for Mindfulness is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The UC San Diego Center for Mindfulness maintains responsibility for this program and its content. This course offers 32.0 CE credit.
This activity is an approved continuing education program by the American Psychological Association. 32.0 CE credit may be applied to your license renewal through the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. For those licensed outside California, please check with your local licensing board to determine if CE credit is accepted.
UC San Diego Center for Mindfulness is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number CEP16351, for 38.25 contact hours.

If you cancel by January 25, 2021 you will be refunded all monies paid except the $300 non-refundable application fee. Refunds may take up to 60 days to receive.

CMSC is not responsible for any miscellaneous expenses incurred by trainees. Should this program be cancelled by CMSC for any reason, CMSC will refund all monies paid.

Time Zone Conversion and Course Time Zone Schedule
By virtue of being online, the LOTT draws trainees from all around the globe. Different regions and time zones may shift at different times during the 12-week LOTT. CMSC uses UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) to anchor the time for these programs.

David Spound – Live Online Teacher Trainer
David Spound, M.Ed., is the Director of Valley Mindfulness (in Northampton, MA, USA) and is a certified teacher and teacher trainer of both Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). David has been teaching mindfulness since 2005 with his own company and on behalf of other organizations including the UMass Center for Mindfulness, the UC San Diego Center for Mindfulness, and the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion. With the CMSC, David leads MSC courses, MSC Teacher Training, Mentoring Sessions for new teachers, Silent Meditation Retreats, Teacher Certification Review, courses on how to teach online, the 8-month online Community for Deepening Practice course, and the Ultimate Courage Men’s Workshop. With Valley Mindfulness, he teaches MSC, MBSR, and sees private clients. From 2006 through 2013, David was a staff member of the UMass Center for Mindfulness where he taught MBSR and managed the “Oasis” MBSR Teacher Training and Certification Program. For David, his work as a teacher, teacher trainer, and mentor is a true labor of love.
Ali Lambie – Live Online Teacher Trainer
Ali Lambie has an MSc in Teaching Mindfulness-Based Approaches from the University of Bangor. Prior to training as a mindfulness teacher she was a counsellor for many years and manager of a counselling service within the NHS for the last eight of those. She is a Certified Teacher and Teacher Trainer of MSC and this work is her passion. These days she is fully self-employed teaching MSC and MBSR to general populations and in workplace settings where she lives in the south of England. She also runs several ongoing monthly groups, regular day and weekend retreats as well as 5-day MSC intensives and silent retreats further afield. Ali enjoys supporting other teachers as a supervisor, MSC consultation host and often has newer teachers working alongside her too. She has a deep love of the countryside and part of her practice is mindful walking in the woods each day.
Rainer Beltzner – Program Online MSC Teacher
Rainer is a Certified MSC Teacher and Certified Mindfulness Teacher who completed his initial MSC teacher training in 2014 with Kristin Neff, Christopher Germer, Steve Hickman and Michelle Becker. He is a Senior Faculty Member of the Centre for Mindfulness Studies in Toronto. Rainer teaches the in-person regular 8-week as well as 5-day intensive MSC programs in addition to shorter MSC related workshops. Since earlier this year, these programs have been successfully moved to a live on-line format. For the past several years, he has also served as a mentor for participants of the Power of Self-Compassion program delivered through Sounds True. Rainer’s background is as a recognized business professional and retired KPMG partner who, over the past five decades, has experienced the realities of large corporate structures, politics and interpersonal conflicts on a national and international basis. Throughout this time, he mentored clients, staff and friends as they struggled with business, career and personal challenges. In addition to his corporate background, Rainer has enjoyed many years of developing and teaching programs for business professionals across the country. He is also a certified performance/race driving instructor and frequently reviews new vehicles in his role as an automotive journalist. Rainer resides in Oakville, Ontario, Canada with Eileen who is also a Certified MSC Teacher.
Eileen Beltzner – Program Online MSC Teacher
Eileen is a Certified Mindful Self-Compassion Teacher, a Making Friends with Yourself MSC Teacher for Youth, a Mindful Self-Compassion Teacher for Healthcare Communities, an MSC Mentor, and a Senior Faculty Member at the Centre for Mindfulness Studies in Toronto, Canada. Initially trained as a Special Care Counsellor, receiving this designation from Vanier College in Montreal, Canada, Eileen worked for 25 years with parents and children with a variety of special needs; and developed state of the art programs, both nationally and internationally, for the parents and professionals working with them. She received her Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier in 1998 and since that time has worked in hospitals, community organizations and in private practice as a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist. As such, she gained valuable clinical experience and expertise working with people from all walks of life, facing and overcoming struggles that are part of the human condition. Eileen teaches the 8-week MSC program, the 5-day in-person MSC Intensive, and a variety of MSC workshops for adults, parents and youth. Currently, Eileen is teaching two MSC training program online; MSC for adults and MFY for young people.
