This Live Online Teacher Training (LOTT) is Step 1 of the Teacher Training Pathway and includes the following elements:

In order to receive CE credits, you must attend all the Teacher Training Sessions. No credit is given for partial attendance. You will also need to fill out the online Evaluation after the training completes. CE Certificates will be emailed about a month after the program completes.
This program is sponsored by UC San Diego Center for Mindfulness. The UC San Diego Center for Mindfulness is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The UC San Diego Center for Mindfulness maintains responsibility for this program and its content. This course offers 32.0 CE credit.
This activity is an approved continuing education program by the American Psychological Association. 32.0 CE credit may be applied to your license renewal through the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. For those licensed outside California, please check with your local licensing board to determine if CE credit is accepted.
UC San Diego Center for Mindfulness is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number CEP16351, for 38.25 contact hours.

If you cancel by March 12, 2021 you will be refunded all monies paid except the $300 non-refundable application fee. Refunds may take up to 60 days to receive.
No refunds will be given after March 12, 2021.
CMSC is not responsible for any miscellaneous expenses incurred by trainees. Should this program be cancelled by CMSC for any reason, CMSC will refund all monies paid.

Time Zone Conversion and Course Time Zone Schedule
By virtue of being online, the LOTT draws trainees from all around the globe. Different regions and time zones may shift at different times during the 12-week LOTT. CMSC uses UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) to anchor the time for these programs.

Mila de Koning is a social therapist, nurse and mindfulness and compassion teacher. She has a long professional experience working in (mental) health care with groups. And she worked as a teacher for healthcare professionals.
Since 2011 her focus is mainly on mindfulness and compassion and she started working for the Vrije Universiteit Medical Centre where one of her main roles was to bring mindfulness and self-compassion to healthcare. Currently she works as teacher and teacher trainer at the Centrum voor Mindfulness in Amsterdam. She teaches mindfulness and MSC courses and is also a teacher trainer for mindfulness and for mindful self-compassion. One of her great aspirations is to bring mindfulness to healthcare, especially for doctors and other healthcare professionals.
David Spound, M.Ed., is the Director of Valley Mindfulness (in Northampton, MA, USA) and is a certified teacher and teacher trainer of both Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). David has been teaching mindfulness since 2005 with his own company and on behalf of other organizations including the UMass Center for Mindfulness, the UC San Diego Center for Mindfulness, and the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion. With the CMSC, David leads MSC courses, MSC Teacher Training, Mentoring Sessions for new teachers, Silent Meditation Retreats, Teacher Certification Review, courses on how to teach online, the 8-month online Community for Deepening Practice course, and the Ultimate Courage Men’s Workshop. With Valley Mindfulness, he teaches MSC, MBSR, and sees private clients. From 2006 through 2013, David was a staff member of the UMass Center for Mindfulness where he taught MBSR and managed the “Oasis” MBSR Teacher Training and Certification Program. For David, his work as a teacher, teacher trainer, and mentor is a true labor of love.
Aimee is a dedicated student and teacher of mindfulness and self-compassion. She received her MSC training through CMSC, where she also serves as Communications Manager. Aimee is the creator of the MSC Community for Deepening Practice and a co-founding member of the Midwest Alliance for Mindfulness in Kansas City, MO. She’s also a chaplain-in-training at Upaya Zen Center in Santa Fe, where she’s studying contemplative end-of-life care. Her teaching style is warm, accessible, and creative. It is rooted in her deep respect for that which is shared by all she encounters: a heartfelt desire to be loved exactly as we are.
Helle Laursen is a Certified MSC Teacher, a Heartfulness meditation Trainer, and has a private practice in Silkeborg, Denmark, with 15 + years of experience in supporting people on sick leave due to mental health issues. For more than 20 years she has been a dedicated student of Heartfulness meditation and enjoys regular visits to Ashrams, to deepen her own practice and understanding. After completing her M.A., she became a ICF certified coach, and had a position of Leading Mentor Coach in the largest Coch Training Institue in Denmark, for 10 + years, as well as holding a position of Head of Project for a regional based 12 week program for those of sick leave from jobs due to mental health issues like stress, depression and/or anxiety. In her private practice, she uses mindfulness and compassion based approaches, and specializes in caregivers, in building resilience in general, and in navigating in life transitions. Helle works with varied groups, but primarily with social workers, teachers, psychologists, therapists, nurses and other industries who work in and with relations to clients, citizens, students. She offers individual and corporate compassion programs, classes, workshops, retreats and hourly consultations. Helle is committed to bringing compassionate awareness into everyday life, so that life can be even more enjoyable and rich and meaningful.
