This Mindfulness & Self-Compassion Five Day Silent Retreat offers you the opportunity to press pause, rest consciously in the silence and explore mindfulness and self-compassion practices in a safe and guided way.
We will spend nourishing time each day, resting in Stillness together, practising sitting and moving meditations and enjoying time to pause, reflect, doodle, colour and journal if that feels delightful for you.
5 days in silence is a deeply enriching time. It can also be very challenging at times too! Please know, you will be supported throughout the 5 days. Silence creates space for the unseen to be seen; the un-felt to be felt. With a compassionate approach, all challenges are welcomed and can be met with tenderness and kindness.
Everyone is welcome! You can be an experienced meditator of many years or you can be a complete novice. If your heart is calling you home, we invite you to answer your heart’s calling and trust that everything will unfold perfectly and effortlessly…
If you are completely new to being in silence, please know that this is a guided silent retreat. This means all meditations will be guided by an experienced and supportive teacher. You will be encouraged to let go of all the trappings of everyday living that distract from the ever-present silence. For the duration of the retreat, we invite you to turn off all devices, find a private space where you will not be interrupted and rest in your own very good company.
If you feel a little daunted by being in silence for this period of time, we would like to reassure you that this is perfectly natural and many participants feel this way before a retreat! We simply invite you to trust yourself, trust the beautiful practices and trust us to guide you warmly and gently through the experience. Please do not hesitate to ask us anything to help reassure your mind and soothe your heart as you embark on this silent adventure inward.
Making connection and feeling at home… To get the most out of your silent retreat experience, it is important you feel safe and relaxed, as best you can. We invite you to carve out this time, just for you. If you are sharing your living space, have a warm conversation about what you need for you to get the most out of the retreat. Ideally, we recommend you take yourself away, maybe to a little cabin or a seaside lodge, where you can immerse yourself in the silence without having to tend to the needs of others. Obviously, if you have young children, this may not be possible, however, if you can ask your partner to attend to their needs as best as possible whilst you practice silence, that would be amazing and truly deepen your experience of the power of silence.
We will create an opportunity for you to say hello and connect before we drop into our silent practice. We will guide you through every practice, so you can just relax and receive. We will gently guide you out of silence at the end of the retreat, to help you integrate back into everyday life, so that you can settle back home with ease and awareness.
If you are an experienced meditator, you are warmly encouraged to listen to what you need, practice how you wish to practice and deepen your experience, however, feels best for you. If you are choosing to lengthen your retreat after the 5 days of guidance to remain in silence, we will wholly support this in whatever way we can.
This 5-day experiential retreat is an opportunity to let go of your rushing thoughts, the to-do lists and busy mind to fully recharge your personal batteries and refill your love-tank. You will have the opportunity to rest deeply, listen compassionately to your own needs, give yourself what you need and empower yourself with internal resources that will help ease the stress and tension that may reside in your mind, body and heart.
This 5-day retreat will be held online via zoom. Please ensure you have all your tech prepared (ideally connecting with us on a device that is not your phone, so that you are not tempted to check texts or notifications!) in plenty of time so that you can relax and enjoy your silent time, just for you. For safety and possible emergency reasons, you may like to share with a close friend what you will be doing (if you live alone) and where you will be so that everyone can feel safe and reassured.
Creating a nourishing environment is a gift to you! We warmly encourage you to create your own personal love-bubble for the duration of the retreat. Perhaps spend a little time building yourself a ‘nest’ – lots of comfortable cushions, blankets, maybe a scented candle or incense, fluffy socks, comfy clothes and lots of nourishing foods that will support your practice. You may like to have soup and main meals prepared or you may like to spend each day preparing your food mindfully in the silence if your environment allows.

To attend this 5 Day Retreat, it is recommended that you have taken the 8 week or 5 Day Mindful Self-Compassion Intensive.
This retreat meets the teacher training requirements for all those wishing to embark on becoming a qualified Mindful Self-Compassion teacher.
