The 8 week Change Through Compassion Workshop is based on the Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) program developed by Kristin Neff, PhD and Chris Germer, PhD. Research on self-compassion has shown that it boosts happiness, reduces anxiety and depression, and can even help maintain healthy lifestyle habits such as diet and exercise.
The Workshop meets Thursdays from 6pm-8:30pm starting September 19 through November 14 (no class 10/31), plus a Retreat from 10am-1:30pm on October 26. Change Through Compassion is a compassion skills building program rather than solely being focused on meditation, and provides participants with the opportunity to develop the practices through an emphasis on experiential learning. Participants receive a free copy of “The Mindful Self-Compassion Workbook” August 2018) by Drs. Neff and Germer.
For participants who are interested in pursuing teacher training in the MSC program, completion of this program is a requirement.
The tuition for participants is $370. We are able to offer 24 American Psychological Association – approved CE’s for attending the workshop, at an additional processing fee of $65.
