“If you talked to your friends the way you talk to yourself, you would have no friends.”
Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) is an empirically-supported 8-week program that builds our capacity to be present in the face of our suffering much like we would with a beloved friend. MSC teaches principles and practices that enable participants to respond to difficult moments in their lives with more kindness, care, and understanding. The emphasis of the program is on enhancing emotional resources and personal capacities through strengthening three core competencies: self-kindness, a sense of common humanity, and mindful awareness.
Through practical exercises and teachings, you will learn how to:
practice self-compassion in daily life;
motivate yourself with encouragement rather than criticism;
handle difficult emotions with greater ease;
transform challenging relationships;
practice the art of savoring and self-appreciation.
