The course explores the practice of learning to befriend yourself, especially when things are tough. It can be learned by anyone.
It combines “mindfulness” which really means paying attention to yourself and surroundings, and self-compassion. Adding the self-compassion to the recipe means – we learn to pay attention to ourselves with gentleness and kindness. This simple combination is deceptively powerful!
Research has shown that self-compassion greatly enhances emotional well-being, boosts happiness, reduces anxiety and depression, and lead to greater ease and joy in our daily lives. Wow!
Self-compassion can also help sustain us in our work, our activism and organizing, our relationships and families and in our roles as parents or caretakers.
The course offers a deep and wide toolbox of meditations, exercises, and practices to help us move with more balance and calm through our days. The format includes brief interactive lectures, discussion and a lot of practice.
