MSC is an 8-Week training program designed to cultivate the skill of self-compassion. The class curriculum is based on the groundbreaking research of Kristin Neff and the clinical expertise of Christopher Germer. MSC teaches core principles and practices that enable participants to respond to difficult moments in their lives with kindness, care, and understanding. Self-Compassion develops emotional strength and resilience, allowing us to admit to shortcomings, motivate ourselves with kindness, forgive ourselves when needed, relate wholeheartedly to others, and be more authentically ourselves.
We will meet once a week on Sunday from 2:00PM to 4:45PM. You will receive Kristin Neff’s book, Self-Compassion, the MSC workbook, and various tools to deepen and support your practice. You can bring mats, blankets, pillows, or chairs for sitting. We ask that the chairs have rounded feet so as not to damage the mat which covers the floors. We will enjoy a four hour retreat between the 5th and 6th class.
Come prepared to learn, meditate and share your experience with others in the class!
No previous experience with mindfulness or meditation is required.
