18th Feb – 8th April 2022, Fridays, 6.30pm-9pm (UK time).
*Includes a half day retreat on Saturday 2nd April 2022.
This course has the benefit of being taught by Lucy and Ethan, two experienced teachers who both bring a wealth of knowledge, and a gentle lightheartedness too! They are both part of the teaching faculty at The Sharpham Trust (a nationally acclaimed mindfulness organisation in the UK) where they offer the self-compassion retreat programme together.
Dr Lucy Chan teaches mindfulness, self-compassion and Buddhism internationally. She was trained directly by the internationally renowned pioneers of self-compassion Kristin Neff and Chris Germer, and she co-created the Self-Compassion programme for the nationally acclaimed mindfulness charity The Sharpham Trust. She also works as a doctor in the NHS; self-compassion practices helped her meet the challenges of a stressful job and her passion is to help others incorporate these practices into their lives. She recently delivered a TEDx talk on Fierce Compassion that you can watch on the official TED website.
Ethan is a Mindful Self-Compassion teacher who has been facilitating mindfulness groups and retreats for over a decade. He currently teaches mindfulness, self-compassion and Buddhism at the nationally acclaimed Sharpham Trust, and local meditation groups across the UK. He was one of the founding members of Wake Up London, a still thriving community of young meditators (aged 18-35). He spent five years training at Plum Village with the internationally recognised mindfulness teacher & Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh.
