Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) is an empirically-supported, 8-week training program designed to cultivate the skill of self-compassion. Self-compassion provides emotional strength and resilience, allowing us to admit our shortcomings, motivate ourselves with kindness, forgive ourselves when needed, relate wholeheartedly to others, and be more authentically ourselves. Class activities include guided meditations, short group discussion, and home practice.

Laila is a Certified Mindful Self-Compassion Teacher and a practicing Psychotherapist in private practice specializing in PTSD, major stress, and anxiety. She has had the pleasure of being directly trained by distinguished world renowned teachers including Drs. Jack Kornfield, Tara Brach, Kristin Neff, Chris Germer, and Steve Hickman. She is the founder and owner of The Mindful Self and co-founder of Bodhi Tree Sangha where she teaches other classes, workshops, and retreats as well as volunteering in her community. Laila is also the Co-Coordinator of Circles of Practice: Public Offering at the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion where she coordinates numerous daily global meditation session, retreats, and other programing.
