This is an intimate non-residential five day intensive version of the Neff and Germer Mindful Self Compassion curriculum usually offered over 8 weeks. This intensive will be offered in the Wild Blue Mindfulness Studio at Ottawa River Psychology Group in downtown Ottawa, Canada. The training is just blocks from the Canadian Parliament Hill and one block from the World Heritage site of Rideau Canal. It is an excellent format for professionals seeking a full immersion in mindful self compassion training and considering MSC teacher training.

If you are too hard on your self, learn the skills of befriending your own heart through the research supported mindful self compassion curriculum. This 5 Day Mindful Self Compassion Intensive is a the full eight-session MSC curriculum can be experienced in an intensive format, five full days of training, with a Certified MSC teacher who has completed additional MSC teacher training. As the name suggests, the MSC intensive is a deep dive into the practice of self-compassion. While it can be emotionally challenging, concentrated practice allows you to become deeply involved in MSC and experience its transformative potential. Learn to manage difficulty with more ease and kindness

Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) combines the skills of mindfulness and self-compassion to enhance our emotional well-being. While mindfulness increases our awareness of the present, self-compassion encourages greater kindness and understanding of periods of suffering. It also helps us accept our flaws and better understand our challenges.

MSC is a research-supported program developed by Dr. Kristin Neff and Dr. Christopher Germer. Research on self-compassion have shown that it boosts happiness and improves relationships while reducing anxiety, depression and shame. Increased levels of self-compassion can transform empathy fatigue into wholehearted engagement with others.

Participants Will Learn
To befriend their self–critic, develop self-compassion skills, and foster goodwill towards themselves and others. The 5-day intensive explores typical responses as difficulties arise.
