Being an artist or therapist can be deeply rewarding and challenging. This 6-week online course will teach you helpful resources to reduce the stress of working in creative and helping roles. The course will give you practical tools to experience greater satisfaction and fulfilment in your personal and professional life, whether you are surfing the waves of successful or difficult times. It will assist you to build more resilience and cultivate true self-care.
The course draws directly from the evidence-based 8-week Mindful Self-Compassion course. Research has shown that mindfulness and self-compassion techniques can help improve our emotional wellbeing, and ability to cope with life’s challenges.
In this nourishing course you will be engaging in experiential exercises, short guided meditations and group discussions. Some home practice and reading will be encouraged. Commitment to all six sessions is very much recommended.
You will learn to:
Treat yourself with more kindness and self-compassion
Motivate yourself with encouragement rather than self-criticism
Deal with difficult emotions in a supportive and calming manner
Extend compassion to others as well as yourself
Clarify your own core values and learn how to use them to guide decision-making
Be on your own side to avoid burnout
Book early to avoid disappointment. It will be a small group of up to 8 participants to create a safe and supportive environment for each individual.
