In this research-supported class from UC San Diego, you will gain practical skills to meet yourself with kind-care and appreciation, while managing stressful situations and relationships in your daily life with more ease and resilience and less suffering.

MSC can be learned by anyone! It is a courageous attitude that stands up to pressures and uncertainties of measuring up at work, financially, socially. Utilizing the evidence-based tools of mindfulness & self compassion you will learn to better negotiate the frustrations, challenges or pain in your life by:

  • Becoming aware of your attitude & reactions towards yourselves
  • Relating to difficult feelings with greater acceptance
  • Responding to shortcomings with self-kindness
  • Motivating yourselves with encouragement rather than self-criticism
  • Moving through life with less anxiety, more flexibility and confidence
  • Improving challenging relationships

We feel compassion when a friend is struggling. What would it be like to receive the same caring attention whenever you needed it most?

Activities in this program include; thematic discussion, mindful & self-compassion experiential activities, group sharing and home practices.
