Running for 9 weeks, Mindful Self-Compassion is an evidence-based program designed to cultivate the skill of self-compassion. MSC teaches practices that enable participants to respond to difficult moments with kindness, care and understanding. Self-compassion provides emotional strength and resilience, allowing us to admit our shortcomings, motivate ourselves with kindness, forgive ourselves when needed, relate wholeheartedly to others, and be more authentically ourselves. Research demonstrates that self-compassion is strongly associated with improved mental health.
The program is facilitated by Dr Christina Faber, an experienced Clinical Psychologist at Peninsula Psychology. She has 15 years of experience delivering group programs in health, corporate and community settings.
What To Expect: Program activities include meditation, short talks, experiential exercises, group discussion, and home practices. MSC includes 8 weekly sessions of 2.5 hours each (plus 15 minute break), in addition to a 2.5 hr retreat. Participants should plan to attend every session.
