This retreat will be co-led by Beth Mulligan and David Spound, certified teachers of MSC.
Beth Mulligan, PA-C is a certified MBSR teacher, teacher trainer, and adjunct faculty through the UMASS Center for Mindfulness. She has been teaching MBSR for over a decade to diverse populations; from the critically ill, to non-profit organizations, the underserved, educators, and corporate leaders. She currently teaches at the Susan Samueli Center for Integrative Medicine at UCI and Insight LA. Beth teaches the 10-week and nine-day practicum for teachers in training nationally and internationally. Beth is a certified Mindful Self Compassion teacher and teacher trainer and does international training for the Center for Mindful Self Compassion.
Beth has a background in primary care medicine as a Board Certified Physician Assistant having graduated Magna cum Laude from Duke University and has practiced medicine for over thirty years. She is a long time student of Charles Tenshin Fletcher, Roshi at Yokoji Zen Mountain Center where she has lived in residence. Beth is the Guiding Dharma teacher at Insight Community of the Desert and is a certified yoga instructor.
David Spound, M.Ed., is a certified teacher and teacher trainer of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC).David trained in MSC at the USCD Center for Mindfulness where he continues to serve as a teacher trainer and mentor for new teachers of both MSC and MBSR. David also works with the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion on programs that include silent meditation retreats, online teacher training and mentoring, online continuing education for MSC graduates, and self-compassion workshops for men. David trained and served as a staff member at the UMass Center for Mindfulness (founded by MBSR developer Jon Kabat-Zinn) where he taught MBSR and coordinated the MBSR teacher training and certification program.David is also the founder and director of Valley Mindfulness in Northampton, MA. There will be a limited number of Scholarships available for those facing economic hardship as a result of the pandemic. The Scholarship discount is $150 USD off the $650 USD tuition fee. $100 USD Non-Refundable cancellation fee applicable at any time.
Your payment (less the $100 non-refundable cancellation fee) will be refunded if we are notified by May 24, 2020, that you need to cancel your registration.
No refunds are available after May 24, 2020, except on compassionate grounds.
A minimum of 15 registrants is required to offer this retreat. In the unlikely event that the course is canceled, CMSC is responsible only for a full refund of the registration fee and not for any miscellaneous expenses.
