Mindful Self Compassion for Teens is an 8 week training program designed to help teens ages 11-15 learn effective science based strategies that are tools for life.
Mindfulness helps teens cultivate skills of self-awareness and emotional resilience. Self compassion helps individuals to respond to the challenges they face with greater kindness and self -care. Preliminary studies demonstrate 32% reduction in depression for teens who practice self-compassion.
This course can supports teens who struggle with:
sleeping, racing mind, struggles with negative self image or perfectionism, learning disorder, disordered eating, shame, low self worth, anxiety or depression, ….. is a human teenager.
This course is not therapy and will not explore the “why” or the “reason” for the suffering.This class focuses on strategies! Teens will learn in this course to be present with their emotional and learn healthy ways to manage them. Mindfulness and self compassion are life long skills that can help individuals enjoys life to its fullest and will also give teens the tools to get through the hard times.
Mindful self Compassion for teens has been adapted from the adult program (created by Kristin Neff, PhD and Christopher Germer, PhD) and was adapted by by Dr. Karen Bluth, and Lorraine Hobbs. This program is taught to teens around the world and continues to grow in popularity due to the results teen feel after 8 week program.
