Enlightened wisdom with enlightened compassion
makes possible enlightened action.”
Daniel, Dan or Dani as I call him, has been a very dear friend of mine for probably 30 years. We met through our Zen training.
I’m honored and excited to have Dani offer a guided meditation, for this 2022 Equinox.
One positive thing thing COVID has brought, is our daily meditations together each day, via Zoom.
Here’s a little more about his professional life…
A lifetime of social action and service; working with the elderly, dementia, young mothers, people with HIV, the homeless, the ethnic global majority and the disabled for the past 40 years.
Daniel’s Zen name is Ryokan which means gentle, open heart-mind (and a Japanese traditional hotel!). A Zen monk, studied with Zen master Genpo Roshi for 35 years and a Tibetan Buddhist practitioner for 35 years. A trained Mindful Self-Compassion teacher. A degree in Christian theology and a masters in the Neuroscience of Mindfulness. Musician and artist. Taoist acupuncturist, teacher and mentor in London for 30 years.
“I’m a simple monk, spiritual friend and guide to others, I ask only for fellowship”. “If you own more than you need – share it with your fellow beings and your heart will be fulfilled”.
After meeting HH Dalai Lama in India and studying with Dalai Lamas’ teachers, he received a Tibetan Buddhist name, many empowerments and studied with many great, Zen, Tibetan and Indian teachers, Shamans and spiritual healers.
In Buddhism, as in all spiritual traditions, all teachings are free. In lieu donating to Dani for his generosity in this offering, he would love to have you contribute, should you choose to do so, to one of these organizations that he is passionate about.
