For everyone.

We often feel compassion when a close friend or family member is struggling. What would it be like to give yourself that same kindness when you suffer, fail, or feel inadequate? Self-compassion is a practice that can be learned by anyone. All that’s required is to include yourself in the circle of your compassion.

Research shows that fostering self-compassion results in better emotional well-being—lower levels of anxiety and depression, healthier diet and exercise habits, and more satisfying relationships. Self-compassion allows us to be more fully human—more completely ourselves.

In this program, Chris offers an exploration of the yin and yang of self-compassion—being with ourselves in a kind way and taking decisive action in the world. Then, he introduces a new understanding of shame, an emotion that arises from the universal wish to be loved. When we reconnect with this wish, shame loses its grip. Come learn tools for living with more self-compassion, as well as skills you can share with clients.
