Consultation sessions will be held in “Zoom,” an online video conference platform. For more information about how to download and use Zoom, please view this video.

All sessions are listed in GMT/UTC. You can convert the session time to your local time using this time zone converter. Please note that GMT/UTC is not the same as BST and you are encouraged to always check the time conversion well ahead of every session. We offer various time slots to accommodate people who join from all parts of the world.

Consultation sessions are currently offered in English, Spanish and German language. Please make sure that you sign up to sessions in a language that works best for you.

The participants attending a single consultation session will vary depending on how many MSC courses are being offered around the world at that time. Consultation sessions are not session-specific and therefore the Teachers-in-Training in attendance will be at different stages of their respective MSC journeys. You may also have more than one Teacher Trainer hosting the sessions over your consultation period.

Teachers need to give at least 24hrs notice if they wish to cancel a session. If you miss a session or cancel with less that 24hrs notice you will be asked to remit $40 each time. As a non-profit organization, CMSC does its utmost to keep costs to a minimum and we appreciate your co-operation with our cancelation policy. You can edit or delete your session up to 24hrs before the meeting.

Simply register on SignUpGenius here and select to ‘edit’ or ‘delete’ the time slot you have signed up for. You can then sign up to a new slot, if you wish, at a time that is convenient for you. If you would like help canceling or changing a session time, please contact [email protected].

If teachers are unable to assemble a class of 8 participants or more but still wish to proceed, they are encouraged to still pay for and attend the consultation sessions to support them in their personal development as a teacher. These sessions, however, will NOT count towards Trained Teacher status.

To support regular attendance by participants, teachers are encouraged to have prospective participants fill out the Background Information form provided by CMSC to help you select your group members. The form also asks prospective participants to sign the statement at the bottom of the form which confirms their commitment to both attendance and daily practice of mindfulness and self-compassion.

If you can’t attend all 10 sessions during your first 8-week program, you are still required to participate in a total of 10 online sessions, including the pre-teaching reflection session, to become a Trained Teacher. Please note that you have 12 months to participate in consultation sessions from the time you made your purchase. Extensions or other arrangements are sometimes possible if you contact CMSC in advance.

Yes, individual sessions can be scheduled via private arrangement with one of the Teacher Trainers, based on a separate fee structure determined by the Teacher Trainer. You can also participate in subsequent group consultation sessions, if you wish, after you have completed the required 10 sessions, on a per-session payment basis.

Once you have completed all 10 consultation sessions and taught an 8-week MSC with at least 8 participants, you can complete and submit your Trained Teacher Application Form. We will then send you your Trained Teacher certificate, subject to approval. Your teacher profile will be added to the Teacher Directory and you will be able to edit your profile, as well as list any upcoming MSC courses, on the CMSC website.
