Carmen Teo is a Certified Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Instructor, a Trained Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) Teacher and is also trained to deliver several other mindfulness-based programs for workplace and K-12 students. She is currently based in Singapore.

Carmen spent the first 15 years of her career in the corporate world in marketing, consulting, revenue management, analytics and strategic planning. She has worked in MNCs and start-up in various leadership positions and had consulted for some of the largest F&B and Hospitality firms in the world. She is also an Advisory Board Member for a NGO in Cambodia that provides hospitality education for underprivileged young adults.
She started her mindfulness journey in 2007 in the US, which has supported her through a job burnout, health challenges, and existential crisis and gradually motivated her shift from a high-flying corporate career into a mind-body practitioner. She founded Mindful Insights in early 2015 with the intention of empowering people in taking care of their well-being, making choices that represent their deepest-held values and potential, and living meaningful lives filled with compassion, joy, and equanimity. Since 2015, she has delivered mindfulness workshops to thousands, and journeyed with hundreds in longer multi-week mindfulness programs in organizations and educational institutions. Her versatile background has enabled her to deliver mindfulness and compassion programs to a variety of populations in universities, social welfare agencies, public schools, corporations, healthcare system, criminal justice system, and government agencies. She is also a certified yoga teacher since 2012.

She holds a Bachelor Degree from NUS Business School and a Master Degree from Cornell University. She is currently working part-time on her doctoral dissertation at NTU, researching on Mindfulness for Educators. She is born and raised in Singapore and had lived in New York, Florida and Cambodia at some points in her life.


I practice Mallakhamb, an ancient form of Pole and Rope "yoga" established in India. It is relatively unheard of outside India.
