Jacqueline is the founder and director of Breathe Mindfulness Centre ( ) and has worked as a Clinical Psychologist providing psychological assessment, counselling and other psychological services to the community of HRM for more than 20 years. She is a faculty member of the Atlantic Contemplative Centre and owner of Jacqueline Milner-Clerk & Associates Inc., a comprehensive psychology practice located in the Dartmouth Medical Centre, in downtown Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

In light of the growing supportive research regarding the therapeutic benefits of contemplative principles and practices on emotional and mental well-being, Jacqueline has sought to integrate contemplative approaches within her current psychology practice. As a result, she has undergone extensive personal and professional study and training in the areas of mindfulness, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, mindfulness-based stress reduction and mindful self-compassion. Over the last several years she has participated in local offerings as well as training offered through the UC San Diego Centre for Mindfulness, and The Centre for Mindfulness Studies in Toronto, Ontario. Through the accredited Applied Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy Program at The Centre for Mindfulness Studies, she has obtained the Core MBCT Facilitation Certificate and has obtained her MSC Certified Teacher Certificate from the Centre for Mindful Self-Compassion.

Jacqueline has had the privilege of being taught by some of the originators of western mindfulness-based therapies including Dr.’s Jon Kabat-Zinn, Zindel Segal and Christopher Germer. Admittedly, however, Jacqueline’s greatest inspiration and learning have come from her own personal practice of mindfulness, meditation and self-compassion – which continues to positively transform her relationships with herself, others and the world and reinforce her intention to offer this extraordinary opportunity to others.
