Dr. Bernita Wienhold-Leahy is currently a university instructor at Thompson Rivers University, Kamloops, BC, Canada. Her research was in teaching mindfulness and self-compassion to adolescents. Bernita has worked for more than a decade with adolescents and young adults in an educational setting and has seen many young people suffer from emotional difficulties. She endeavors to bring mindful self-compassion in the community, schools, and professions to build resilience and well-being in others. The joy of teaching self-compassion is the benefit it brings to others. Self-acceptance, self-appreciation, and gratitude are what Bernita hopes to bring to people of all walks of life.
