Brittany Glynn, Ph.D., is a Certified Mindfulness-Based Symptom Management (MBSM) Teacher and a Trained Teacher in Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC). She co-facilitates eight-week MBSM and MSC group courses, while also leading various workshops related to mindfulness, compassion, behavior change, performance psychology, and how to implement self-care and long-term healthy habits for skillful living and well-being. She has led mindfulness and compassion workshops with counselors, parents, school teachers, health-care professionals, university faculty and graduate students, yoga therapists, and wellness professionals.

In addition to her consulting work as a mindfulness and compassion coach, she also received her Ph.D. in Human Kinetics with an emphasis in the Psychosocial Aspects of Sport, Physical Activity, and Health from the University of Ottawa. Her research focused on the embodied experiences of joy and flow during physical activity, affective models of health behavior, as well as mental skills training for athletes and high-level performers. She has several publications in the fields sport and exercise psychology, mindfulness, and training mindfulness teachers. She also completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Interdisciplinary Pain research Lab at The Ottawa Hospital exploring the effects of mindfulness interventions on chronic pain oncology patients. During this fellowship, she created, designed, and implemented a five-week self-guided mindfulness for chronic pain online course that is currently featured on The Ottawa Hospital's Youtube page.

Brittany truly enjoys teaching mindfulness and MSC courses and she embraces the practice as an ongoing intention of self-care. She is inspired by the course participants’ courage and resiliency to continuously ‘show up’ and explore their lives with more kindness, curiosity, and gentleness. She looks forward to connecting with other MSC teachers and participants who may be interested in future workshops and eight-week courses.
