Teaching mindfulness programs is a true labor of love. I come to these programs (MBSR and MSC) through my own healing journey and my passion to explore what it means to be a healthy and happy human being in today's world. I continue to be deeply inspired by what learn from my participants.

David Spound, M.Ed., is a meditation teacher and consultant based in Northampton, MA. where he offers courses in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) through his company Valley Mindfulness (www.valleymindfulness.com ). David also enjoys creating new and customized training courses, leading silent meditation retreats, and exploring possibilities for online education and training.

Through his work with the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion, David has worked to develop and deliver the "Ultimate Courage: Self-Compassion Training for Men" workshop; in addition he co-leads weekly sessions of the Circle of Practice, and he is co-leading the 8-month online program "Community for Deepening Practice".

David is a former staff member and trainer at the UMass Center for Mindfulness, the organization founded by Jon Kabat-Zinn, and he has co-led programs for the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion.

I enjoy teaching in a variety of settings including 8-week group classes, private sessions, silent retreats, and online. Outside of mindfulness practices, I have a passion for cycling, live music, organic and vegan food, and playing the ukulele.
