Di Wu is a pianist and teacher. He has been practicing mindfulness since 2017.
Originally from China, Di received a Master of Arts in Piano Pedagogy in China and a Master of Music in Piano Performance in Canada. He was also a university faculty member and lectured on performance strategies and taught piano. Currently, he is training to become a Certified Mindful Self-Compassion Teacher for teenagers and adults.
Di believes the learning journeys of music and self-compassion are similar: both require hard work and heart work. Therefore, his Ph.D. research in examining the role of contemplative practices for musicians and music teachers in the creative processes of performing and teaching.
