I have had a passion for wellness all my life. When I was a public school teacher (2001-2008), I incorporated physical wellness (healthy eating, yoga, and dance) into my classroom. In 2008 when I had my first daughter, I became curious about how to facilitate mental wellness and emotional regulation. I also began to see that I could influence my daughter’s mental and emotional well-being by taking care of my own. I found that yoga created a sense of physical wellness that also contributed to well-being in other areas of my life. I discovered that practicing mindfulness helped to create a sense of balance in my mental and emotional life.
My mindfulness journey led me further into applied mindfulness training, including Mindful Self-Compassion and Positive-Neural Plasticity training. I found that mindful self-compassion practices made it easier for me to face and integrate the difficult emotions and experiences of life. This was complemented by positive neural plasticity training, which enabled me to “grow the good” and more fully soak in the beautiful moments of life.
I currently offer Mindfulness (and applied mindfulness), Yoga, and Self-Compassion classes as well as private sessions for adults, children and teens because I believe that everyone can learn to be happy—one strategy, one breath, one moment at a time.
