  • MSC Certified Teacher

I am passionate about the subject of Self Compassion!
From my own journey & having supported many students & clients over the years, I've
realised how hard we can all be on ourselves & how this can interfere with wellness on
so many levels. MSC has given me tools to approach life differently

Julia Sweetman is a Certified MSC Teacher and a Nutritional Therapist. She has been involved in the health and wellness sector for over 10 years. She teaches nutrition, health and wellness for the Irish Institute of Nutrition and Health (IINH) and runs regular MSC courses.
Prior to this, she enjoyed a job as a Senior Manager for a large Health and Beauty Retailer for 11 years. Her change in career stemmed from the desire to explore healthier ways to manage the increasing demands and pressures of work and family life. This involved learning about the positive benefits of good quality nutrition and of a regular mindfulness practice. These aspects were then enhanced by the addition of the 'heart centred' practices of self-compassion, gratitude and loving kindness. Living life in this new way has helped Julia to realise so many wonderful benefits and it has had positive ripples in every aspect of her life. This includes her approach to being a mum of amazing and fun focused 8-year-old twins
Julia now advocates and teaches the benefits of regular self-compassion practice and the positive impacts of good quality nutrition. She is passionate about teaching practical skills to empower and assist individuals to live a healthier more balanced life.

I trained as a Nutritional Therapist in 2005 after personal experience of the positive impact of food and nutrition in overcoming a serious illness. I then discovered the power of Mindful Self Compassion after attending a 5-day intensive training in Ireland in 2015. During the training I had many "light bulb" moments about the strength of the MSC work and how it had the potential to empower myself, my clients and the participants that I teach.
