Kristy Arbon worked with Chris Germer and Kristin Neff to start up the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion in 2012 (she was the first Administrative Director for CMSC), and has been teaching MSC since 2014. She adapted MSC for the online environment, creating Live Online MSC in 2015.

Kristy is the founder and CEO of HeartWorks Training (kristyarbon.com). She offers lectures and workshops on mindfulness, somatics and self-compassion in the US, Australia, Singapore, New Zealand, Brazil, Bhutan and online. Her work is grounded in Mindful Self-Compassion, Compassion-Focussed Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experiencing, Brené Brown's shame resilience work, polyvagal theory, Sensory Modulation theory, feminine archetypes and Buddhist philosophy. She is the developer of the Somatic Self-Compassion curriculum (kristyarbon.com/somatic-self-compassion-training/).

She has worked for the Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy (meditationandpsychotherapy.org) and Susan Kaiser-Greenland (susankaisergreenland.com). She previously worked as the center manager at the Barre Center for Buddhist Studies (bcbsdharma.org) in Massachusetts. She is originally from South Australia, and currently lives with her American husband in St Louis, Missouri.
