Mindfulness and Compassion are two wings of a bird, they are inseparable.
My interest in the secular applications of mindfulness and compassion training stems from my long-standing personal meditation practice. This is mainly informed by the somatic practices of Tibetan Buddhism and Zen and it has greatly enriched and expanded my teaching. I regularly attend meditation retreats as well as professional workshops as part of my continuing development and practice path. I am very interested in the impact of meditation on our capacity to self regulate and the relationship between trauma and somatic awareness.
My professional background is in social work and I have worked in statutory children’s services. I continue to be registered as a qualified social worker with the Health and Care Professions Council in England. I have also worked in other positions within public services.
I believe in our human richness and our resourcefulness to nourish ourselves and truly connect with each other and our planet.
