Paulette is a Certified Mindful Self-Compassion teacher, trained through the Center for Self-Compassion at the University of California at San Diego with founders of the MSC program, Kristen Neff and Christopher Germer. She is also a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction teacher, trained through the Center for Mindfulness at University of Massachusetts Medical School, with Jon Kabat-Zinn, founder of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program, and colleagues. Paulette is a founding member of the Ann Arbor Center for Mindfulness, Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Currently, she teaches Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), the Short Course in MSC, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), . She is a frequent leader for the weekly drop-in meditation for Open Mindfulness Meditation and for the Daily Practices in MSC.
Paulette is Professor Emeritus of Interpersonal Communication at Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor, Michigan, retiring after thirty years of full-time teaching and six years of serving as Humanities Department Chair. She continues to teach Family Communication online, a course which she developed for the college and designed for teaching as distance learning. She is an experienced educator, and teaching mindfulness is her passion.
She is a new grandmother and has two fun-loving Havanese dogs.
