Hooria Jazaieri, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of management at the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University. In addition to being an award-winning professor, her research has been published in leading academic journals in the fields of management and psychology. Her research is regularly featured in popular press outlets, including Harvard Business Review, the Wall Street Journal, among others.
She accidentally stumbled upon mindfulness and Zen meditation in 2006 as an undergraduate research assistant in Dr. Marsha Linehan’s lab at the University of Washington. Hooria’s research and teaching interests in evidence-based practices that cultivate mindfulness and compassion quickly followed. In 2012, she became a certified compassion instructor through Stanford University’s Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education (CCARE). In 2014, she became a certified Search Inside Yourself (SIY) instructor through the Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute (SIYLI). She also currently serves as a science advisor at the Greater Good Science Center (GGSC) at the University of California, Berkeley, and is a licensed psychotherapist in the State of California. Through her research, teaching, and as a member of the CMSC Board of Directors, she is dedicated to alleviating suffering and improving the well-being of employees in organizations.
