Saturday, January 24, 9:00am - 4:30pm PT, 1.5hr break from 12:00pm-1:30pm
This adapted Core Skills workshop offers an immersive, retreat-like experience designed for participants who already have some familiarity with Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), Live Online MSC (LOMSC), or other contemplative self-compassion practices. Rather than introducing the full MSC curriculum, this gathering provides an opportunity to renew, deepen, and reconnect with the heart of self-compassion through experiential practice.
The workshop emphasizes the core capacities of mindful awareness, self-kindness, and a sense of shared humanity, inviting participants to revisit foundational practices with fresh perspective. With less didactic instruction and more time for guided meditation, inquiry, and reflection, the course creates space for participants to rest, restore, reinvest, and expand their personal practice in community.
Grounded in more than two decades of research, self-compassion is strongly associated with emotional resilience, reduced stress and burnout, increased motivation, and greater relational wellbeing. For those who have already begun cultivating these skills, returning to the essentials can strengthen and stabilize the inner resources that support compassionate presence in both personal and professional settings.
